5 Essential Handbag Items You Need This Spring

Spring is in full swing, even though I’m pretty sure the weather hasn’t really got the memo. It’s been freezing here in the UK, with heavy fog and crazy sporadic rain showers, and I for one, am sick of it. Can the real Spring season please stand up? I repeat, can the real Spring Season please stand up?

I have been in a whirlwind of craziness over the past couple of weeks, in between our Fall 2018 Collection launch and Runway Shows at work and focusing all my remaining energy on the blog, my days have lately consisted of super early mornings and crazy late nights. I have basically been living on coffee, salad and the occasional midnight chocolate (yes, I know how bad that is for me, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do).

After waking up with a burst blood vessel in my eye, which made me look like one of the zombies off The Walking Dead, I decided it was definitely time for some TLC. I took the night off and had a very long bath, complete with relaxing music and followed by a homemade facial and some nail care. I do feel a lot better, but I have to thank past Julia for actually preparing and organising my handbag for the past few weeks. I had all my essentials all the time, in my brand new Zara bag (which is great for Spring by the way) and felt like I could tackle almost anything that was thrown at me, just by looking inside my Mary Poppins bag of wonders.

The main object of my affection has been the Katherine lipstick by Tom Ford. I recently discovered his Boys & Girls collection, and have fallen madly in love with it. The packaging is beautiful and the actual product formula is just as great and lasts all morning, until I eat my lunch and then quickly reapply once I am done, After lunch, I don’t need to reapply for the rest of the day. It’s also super creamy, gives a nice shine to the lips and is a timeless nude, but there are loads more you can choose from! It fits nicely in my bag and literally goes with everything.

Another recent discovery has been the Lancome Monsieur Big mascara. I never go anywhere without mascara and this one is now my all time favourite. It lengthens and thickens and is just all round awesome. It also lasts all day, and is pretty durable even if you’re watching a sappy movie!

Speaking of movies, I have been watching quite a lot of vlogs, and couldn’t help but notice bloggers layering necklaces and creating intricate and beautiful designs, and I found myself wishing I could do the same. However, I only ever wear one necklace as it’s my absolute favourite in the whole world, and it’s the Pandora love heart necklace Harry bought me for Valentine’s Day a few years back. It was the first ever piece of jewellery he bought me, so it holds a special place in my heart. It never comes off, so when I feel in need of a change, I turn to rings to give me that extra sparkle. I have been buying and collecting Samantha Wills rings ever since I discovered her jewellery about 5 years ago. Samantha Wills is an Australian designer, and her rings are to die for! They are absolute show stoppers, and I promise, as soon as you put one on, everyone will be staring at your fingers – so make sure your mani is up to scratch!

I have also just started wearing a watch again. I kind of went off them for a while, but have a new found admiration for them ever since buying my Armani watch. It’s so comfortable to wear and goes with any outfit, weather I am at work, at a fancy restaurant or just lazing around the house. And by lazing around, I mean flop on the couch and look like I haven’t slept in days (because I probably haven’t).

To help me look less dead and a bit more spritely, I have been taking the Hourglass bronzer with me everywhere, and applying as needed, which has been a lot!

You can’t beat a good Tom Ford lipstick and I really want to try that mascara – I have heard great things x

Whoa, what a stunning flatlay!! I love the way layered necklaces look on bloggers, too, but like you, I typically only wear one necklace at a time. I gotta check out those rings!
